Dr Leckie is a disgrace and should be investigated for the constant mistreatment of patients, his appalling attitude and conduct should not be tolerated, I am sure one day the mistakes made by this horrible man and surgery will cause some poor patient a great deal of harm... disgusting
The practice manager has just called me to apologise for leaving me with no pain meds for 3 days now (which I have been on for 5yrs) because they made a mistake and sent me a referral to the addiction clinic! They put me on the pills but I am the addict? They will kill someone one of these days with the mistakes they make. I am changing doctors as soon as I can, can't take this practice anymore
This surgery is clearly struggling with the shortage of medical staff, which is a problem across the whole of the UK (and a direct result of the xenophobic Conservative government not letting foreign doctors and nurses in for not being rich enough despite them having NHS jobs lined up here, plus Brexit), as well as the fact that their old building (on John Street itself) burned down.I recently moved to Bellshill and joined this surgery (the only one in the area still accepting new NHS patients) and I have to say, the receptionists and nurses have been nothing but really pleasant to me and my partner. And I'm very clearly an immigrant from the Netherlands, married to an American, so I figured there might be some resentment for us adding to the strain on resources despite paying taxes like everyone else (or indeed homophobia as we're both men), but no, they've just been very nice. I haven't had to see a doctor yet, but I find it hard to see how the receptionists and nurse I've spoken to would be rude to patients as referred to by other reviewers without being provoked. Maybe they've been replaced following complaints?I also can't fault them for being hard to reach on the phone since they're having communications problems at their current location, again due to their old building having been destroyed. In the meantime, I just stop by in person and there's no problem.I'm just glad they're still operating and accepting new NHS patients. To anyone who's unhappy about the surgery, I can only say: whatever you do, don't vote for a right-wing party. Maybe move to a marginal Tory constituency and vote Labour/SNP/Green/etc. That would actually make change more likely to the fundamental problem faced by GP surgeries across the kingdom.

Absolute joke of a surgery. Went last week with sore swollen throat. Feels like swallowing broken glass. Was told nothing wrong with me. 1 week later still sore and white spots on tonsils.. was told might be an infection swab took and had to wait 2 days for results. Called 2 days later told i have infection but need to wait 24 hrs for a prescription. So 10 days with throat infection and still no antibiotics.
